An Iconic French-American Union at The Spot on West Fifth

These two met and fell in love in Australia, but with Lucas being from France and Jacob from the US, their love story unfolded long distance and across many countries. When they finally got the chance to celebrate their wedding day in Jacob’s hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, they didn’t hold back.

The day began with Lucas and Jacob getting ready together, an intimate choice that set the tone for the rest of the celebration. They practiced their first dance in their pjs as their wedding party watched in. They stood out in custom black tuxedos with monogramed sleeves and cufflinks, while their grooms women dressed in all white.

Their ceremony was heartfelt and intentional, honoring both of their cultures with readings in French and English. The emotional connection between them was undeniable, and they shared a quiet moment of tears and an embrace immediately following the ceremony.

The reception was a masterclass in blending personal style with thematic elements. The venue’s moody, industrial vibe—complete with exposed brick—was the perfect backdrop for their elevated take on the red, white, and blue theme. Tables were dressed in navy linens, accented with lush red and white florals, and elevated with gold touches throughout. Oversized French and American flags added a bold, playful nod to their heritage, while custom flag pins invited every guest to feel part of the celebration.

Guests were treated to a red carpet entrance, complete with a photo op worthy of Hollywood glam. Once inside, the evening was filled with energy and unforgettable moments. After cutting into their macarons and baguettes, the couple and their guests danced the night away, with berets making their way onto the dance floor in true French fashion.

Every detail of their wedding was a perfect reflection of their love story—joyful, stylish, and inclusive—and it was a privilege to be part of documenting their incredible day.
